Mercedes-Benz is bringing the much awaited battery-electric eSprinter van to Canada and U.S. The production will commence in South Carolina in the second half of 2023.
The company has invested around €350 million to produce the new eSprinter which will be a long cargo van having a high roof and supported by 113 kilowatt-hour battery.
The vehicle will have the load capacity of 14 cubic meters. The gross vehicle weight will be 4.25 tons while the battery capacity will have 400 kilometers range.
Mercedes passenger cars are known for their best tech features and the company has fitted eSprinter van with some of these. The two best features being; the infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen followed by a natural language voice recognition system.
Another significant feature being, eSprinter can be charged with alternating current (AC) as well as direct current (DC). An on-board charger enables this conversion.
