Fire Season Reminders

Western Canada is experiencing extreme, record-breaking heat.  With high heat comes increased chances of wildfires, and jurisdictions are on high alert for fire signs.

As a commercial driver, it is a good idea to check road reports for fire-related activities during the summer months.  Forest fires can result in extreme travel delays as they may require the closing of highways.  Even without highway closures, there can be decreased air quality from the smoke which can make hot days even more unbearable.

As you plan your trips out West and anywhere else where fires are of concern, plan ahead by checking state and province road report resources for details on fire-related traffic concerns.
