Vehicles on the Side of the Road

When you see vehicles stopped along the side of the road, make every effort possible to move a lane over from them and slow down.  While this is a legal requirement for emergency vehicles in most jurisdictions, the same courtesy should be applied to all vehicles.

For example, many parents with young children stop along the highway if their child needs a bathroom break.  While this is an unsafe action on the part of the parent(s), they often don’t know better and are more concerned about the potty training of their child than the traffic around them.

Help those stopped along the roadways get where they need to go safely by slowing down and giving them the space they need.
