Trucking Industry in Canada has welcomed Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative.

The recently launched five-day program is a part of CVSA’s annual awareness and outreach endeavour. Through this program, the alliance with the help of law enforcement agency organizes activities which aim at educating commercial motor vehicle drivers, motor and the people at large  public about human trafficking.

It is noteworthy that trucking industry has volunteered in the recent past to help the Canadian government in curtailing this crime.

The awareness campaign emphasizes upon the direct/indirect signals to watch for and take necessary action on seeing a doubtful case of human trafficking.

Most importantly, CVSA has been on the job for many months as from organising webinars, radio programs to disseminating information on other online platforms, the alliance after gathering the information will compile and share the report this summer.

At the same time, keeping in view the significant role of the truckers in the initiative, the alliance along with Truckers Against Trafficking dispensed wallet cards and window decals.

February 22nd is the Canada’s National Human Trafficking Awareness Day which is why CVSA initiated the campaign from February 20-24.
