Under the Highway Traffic Act, Ontario Province in order to protect the roads and highways may implement the spring thaw weight restrictions in the state.
The details of the spring weight restrictions have been categorized in various schedules. Under schedule 1 King’s Highways, the weight restrictions can come into effect during March -April while schedule 2 King’s Highways between March -May while schedule 3 King’s Highways can become applicable from March to June. The restrictions will be subject to the weather conditions.

In addition, the fleets in Ontario also need to be watchful about the by-laws and implementation dates pertaining to weight restrictions, passed by the Municipalities.
