Diesel prices on rise!!!

The price of a gallon of on-highway diesel went up 3.2 cents to $2.571 per gallon for the week ending Monday, May 29. This marks the first increase after five straight weeks of decreases and highest prices since May 1 when diesel was $2.583.

Diesel price averages went up in 9 of 10 regions in the U.S., according to the Energy Information Administration. The largest average increase was in the Midwest region, where prices at the pump went up by 4.4 cents per gallon. Prices decreased by four-tenths of a cent in the New England region, the only decrease in the nation.

Following are the average prices by region as reported by the EIA:
• U.S. – $2.571, up 3.2 cents
• East Coast – $2.608, up 2 cents
• New England – $2.622, down four-tenths of a cent
• Central Atlantic – $2.751, up 1.8 cents
• Lower Atlantic – $2.505, up 2.6 cents
• Midwest – $2.512, up 4.4 cents
• Gulf Coast – $2.423, up 3.9 cents
• Rocky Mountain – $2.661, up 3.2 cents
• West Coast – $2.843, up 1.5 cents
• West Coast less California – $2.735, up 1 cent
• California – $2.931, up 1.9 cents
