The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s 2021 Roadcheck event is right ahead of us. Scheduled for May 4-6, 2021, this event will see commercial vehicle safety inspectors around North America conducting inspections on heavy trucks, trailers, and buses.
CVSA will be focusing on 2 main areas this year: hours of service and lighting. Motor carriers and drivers alike can prepare themselves for this inspection effort by ensuring these topics become common points of conversation around their terminals and yards.
The inspection dates are so close that it is too late to start a detailed training effort. However, professional drivers should already be familiar with the requirements to pass a vehicle inspection, so a quick bit of refresher training may be all that is needed to bring everyone’s attention to the inspections looming on the horizon.
