Keeping in view the inconvenience caused to the non-U.S. citizens including the Canadian truck drivers, the Canadian Trucking Association (CTA) has demanded the removal of U.S. vaccine mandate.

CTA in a recent communication sent to the U.S. Ambassador to Canada David Cohen stated that in wake of cross border trade between Canada and U.S. both the governments should be in consonance towards the removal of restrictions.

The communication also pointed towards the fact that CTA and American Trucking Association (ATA) have been continuously urging for the easing of the COVID restrictions across North America.

The alliance has been reiterating the demands made by various mayors and governors and 55 U.S. Congress members who had called upon President Joe Biden to do away with border restrictions at the earliest.

CTA also referred to the ongoing economic slowdown that has added to the supply chain challenges stating that removal of restrictions will enable presently ineligible Canadian truck drivers to cross border for Canada-U.S. trade.
