Biden’s Announcement to Remove Border Vaccine Restrictions Raise the Hopes of Trucking Industry in Canada and U.S.

The twin spans of the Blue Water Bridges international crossing between the cities of Port Huron, Michigan and Sarnia, Ontario is one of the busiest border crossings between Canada and the United States.

U.S. President Joe Biden’s proclamation to do away with the border vaccine restrictions for non-U.S. residents is a positive step towards the trade with Canada.

The trucking industry in both the countries is hopeful that Biden’s announcement for the removal of COVID-19 measures on May 11, 2023 will come with complete removal of the restrictions on Canadian truckers.

Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) and American Trucking Association (ATA) have made joint efforts towards the removal of COVID-19 restrictions by giving various representations for the same.

Recently, CTA had recently sent a communications to the U.S. Ambassador in Canada requesting him to extend support for the discontinuation of cross-border restrictions.

Pointing towards the economic instability which has already hindered the trade between U.S. and Canada, CTA further stated that removal of COVID-19 vaccine restriction will ensure supply chain consistency.

Committed to the cause, CTA continues to relentlessly make efforts which include working in close collaboration with the organisations and stakeholders both in Canada and U.S.
